History
Ivy Hall Foundation was founded by a group of women in Alpha Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated in September 2003 following an assessment of the many social and human service needs in the Charlotte community. A permanent facility to implement programs and transact business was a priority and a consideration to the success of the community outreach of the foundation.
Mission
The mission of Ivy Hall Foundation is to serve our community through programs for health, education, cultural, personal safety and economic development.

Establishment of the Ivy Hall Foundation following an assessment of the social and human services needs in the Charlotte and Mecklenburg County community.
September 2003-January 2004
Planning meetings held with members perspective members of Ivy Hall Foundation concerning the purchase of the facility where we could provide services to the community through program thrusts and fulfill a long desire of our chapter to have a comfortable place for chapter meetings
January 2004-May 2004
Foundation meetings were held monthly to insure open communication and to facilitate a process to purchase and support Ivy Hall·

Articles of Incorporation granted by the North Carolina Secretary of State, Elaine Marshall.
May2004
Ivy Hall Foundation members purchase the facility at 2613 HutchinsonMcDonald Road
July2004
Application for Recognition of Exemption under Section 501 C3 of the Internal Revenue Code was perfected and filed with the Internal Service.
August 2004
Dedication-and Open House Program held at the Ivy Hall Foundation facility.
